Function meets aesthetics

When we used our own Dedica on a daily basis, we often lacked space for larger cups or a coffee scale. Conventional flat drip trays solved the space problem, but often felt wobbly and loose. Our aim was to create a piece that didn’t feel like an accessory, but like an integral part of the machine.

The result is the “Snap-Fit” drip tray: it combines the lowest technically possible height with an intelligent magnetic attachment and our characteristic honeycomb design.

The “Snap-Fit” magnet technology

The decisive upgrade is hidden inside. We have invisibly incorporated strong neodymium magnets into the base of the drip tray. These use the original metal drip tray of your machine as an anchor point.

Automatic hold: As soon as you insert the shell, it pulls itself into the correct position.
Floating connection: The magnetic force holds the tray securely in position, “floating” approx. 0.2 mm above the metal sheet. This prevents rattling and ensures a high-quality haptic snap-fit.
No slipping: The bowl sits firmly in place, even if you put cups down carelessly or move the machine.

Over 24% more space: with a height of just 3.3 cm, this bowl is significantly shallower than the original or conventional extensions (often > 4.3 cm). You gain over a whole centimeter of crucial height – often the difference between your favorite cup fitting or not.
Honeycomb design: The precisely crafted pattern plays with light and shadow and gives the machine a technical depth that perfectly matches the modern look of the Dedica.
Expandable system: For a uniform look, the drip tray can be ideally combined with our matching cup rack.

Compatibility & prerequisite

Suitable for: De’Longhi Dedica models EC685 and EC885.
How it works: The magnetic function requires the original metal drip tray (the silver grid in the base of your machine) as a counter pole. This must remain in the machine.

Dimensions & material

Dimensions (W x L x H): 149 mm x 132.5 mm x 33 mm.
Material: High-quality PLA (polylactide) – a robust, biodegradable plastic made from renewable raw materials.
Care instructions: Please only clean the drip tray by hand with lukewarm water and mild washing-up liquid. Not dishwasher-safe, as high temperatures can deform the material.

Here at Studio48°Nord, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Every single product is designed, 3D printed and carefully packaged for you by our small team right here in our Munich workshop.

Shipping from Munich: Your order will be shipped directly from our workshop in Munich.
Shipping costs: We charge a flat rate of € 2.90 for shipping within Germany.
Fast processing: We know that you are looking forward to your order. As a rule, we process and dispatch orders within 48 hours (2 working days). So 1 working day for production and then the next working day at the latest the product goes to the post office. As we manufacture everything ourselves in our Munich studio, your parcel goes directly from us to the shipping service provider.

Return

If an item does not quite meet your expectations, you can easily return or exchange it.

30-day period: You can return items to us within 30 days of receipt.
How it works: Please contact us briefly by email at refund@studio48Nord.de or via our contact form before returning your item. We will then discuss the next steps together.
Return costs: The costs for the return shipment for returns or exchanges are borne by the buyers.
Condition of items: We can provide a full refund if the item arrives unused and in its original condition. If the item is not returned in its original condition (e.g. damaged or heavily worn), the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
