The tray that started it all: it replaces the flat stock drip tray and makes room for large cups. Since August 2026 it comes as two parts, the honeycomb grid and its own drip container underneath. That way it fits every Dedica without you having to look anything up first.

The Build
Two parts instead of a magnet question.
The tray used to hang off the machine's drip tray insert with neodymium magnets, so before buying you had to check whether yours was metal. That question is gone: under the grid there is now its own PETG drip container, and the grid is held by a lip in its recess.
Because both original parts come out of the machine anyway, what they are made of is irrelevant. Your machine stays unchanged. Take both parts out and the Dedica is back to stock condition. It holds almost as much as the large original container, even though it is far flatter. To empty it, you pick it up between thumb and index finger and lift it out.
Materials, honestly
Two plastics, each where it belongs.
The body is made of PLA, precisely printed and dimensionally stable in everyday use. Wherever water sits, PETG does the work: the removable container catches drips and rinse water without letting anything through.
Honestly, that also means: please hand-wash both parts briefly. They're not made for the dishwasher.
Care in one sentence: empty the container, hand-wash with warm water, dry, put back.
Fitting it
One minute, and you need no tools.
Lift the upper grid out of your machine. Underneath is the original drip tray, that comes out too, and below it, depending on the year, a second catch container in metal or plastic. That one comes out as well.
Then you drop our container in and lay the grid on top. Done. Because both original parts come out, it no longer matters what they were made of. That is exactly why the old question of metal or plastic doesn't exist any more.

Your tray doesn't sit on a shelf. It's only made after your order, on a Bambu Lab H2S in our Munich workshop. Afterwards it's checked, packed by hand, and on its way to you from 5 October.
The fine print layers on the surface aren't a flaw, they're the signature of the process. Anyone who recognizes them knows what's sitting on the table.

Does the tray fit my Dedica?
Yes, every one: EC685, EC785, EC885 and Duo EC890. There are no versions left and nothing to look up. The reason: our own drip container sits under the grid, and because your machine's original parts come out for it, what they are made of doesn't matter. How to fit it is explained further down.
What happened to the magnetic version?
It's gone, and that is good news. The tray used to hang off the machine's drip tray insert with magnets, which is why you had to check whether yours was metal before buying. On some machines it wasn't.
Now the grid is held by a lip on our own container. The only part in the range that is still magnetic is the portafilter holder, and it hangs on the metal wall of the housing that every Dedica has.
How big is the tray?
The grid measures 148.7 × 134.1 × 32.0 mm (width × length × height), the container underneath 101.7 × 110.6 × 21.2 mm. The 3.2 cm height is the point: the stock drip tray builds 4.3 cm tall, so you gain a centimeter under the spout.
Can the tray go in the dishwasher?
No, please don't. The body is made of PLA, the water-carrying container of PETG. Hand-wash both briefly with lukewarm water, in the dishwasher the heat can deform the material.
Does the plastic come into contact with my coffee?
No. The tray sits under the cup and catches drips and leftover water, your coffee stays in the cup. The removable PETG container collects the caught water, which you take out to empty.
How fast will it reach me?
Your tray is only printed after your order. From 5 October it will be printed, checked and handed over for shipping, out of Munich. Shipping costs 3.90 € within Germany and 6.90 € to the EU, every additional piece ships free.
